My Canon EOS 40D

On the 20th August 2007 mark the born of the new Canon EOS 40D. I have been waiting so long for it release and finally it announced. I have been asking around for it selling price and availability and get to know that it will only reach Malaysia in end of September 2007. On the 23rd August 2007 nikon announced the born of the rival Nikon D300. I have been surfing the internet for review about the Canon EOS 40D and because of the rival D300, the price of Canon EOS 40D at oversea have been dropping and reaches RM4000 after conversion based on the Date.

At the beginning of October 2007, once again I’ve been going around Mid-Valley, KLCC, Sungei Wang Plaza, Pudu Plaza, Pertama Complex and Maju Junction to ask about the pricing. All the price they gave me is RM4200 for body only and RM4500 for EF-S 18-55mm f3.5-5.6 IS. I still thinking it not worth the price and believe it will drop till the RM 4000 for body only and RM 4300 for the EF-S 18-55mm f3.5-5.6 IS kit lenses. In the internet forum, there is a lot of people selling their 1 week Canon EOS 40D and change to the Nikon D300.

In end of November 2007, release of Nikon D300 in Malaysia and price RM6300. This price is too high compare with the Canon EOS 40D and I wish to wait for the review of Nikon D300 and see how the Nikon D300 superior than the Canon EOS 40D. The price of the Canon EOS 40D in beginning of Dec is still the same as in September. This is because of the high demand and low in stock level which cause the price to stay. So I decide to wait for the PC Fair to buy my Sandisk Extreme III 4GB.

On the 8th December 2007 early morning, I decide to go PC Fair alone at Kuala Lumpur Conventional Center. I browse around the price and the Sandisk Extreme III 4GB retail price at RM299. So I walk around and at this time I meet my University classmate and guess what…my friend has a friend work in Sandisk as promoter, so I decide to follow him and see how much discount they can give me. After bargain they give me RM270 and I have 2 free gifts.

On the 14th December 2007, once again I’m going to Selangor Photographer at Pertama Complex to ask about the price because my friend ask me to go there ask the price of the Nikon 80-200 F2.8 D lenses. Then I’m happy with the price they give me on the Canon EOS 40D which is RM4300 for the body with EF-S 18-55mm f3.5-5.6 IS kit lenses. So I decide to go there buy on Sunday.

Today 16th December 2007, I finally own my 1st (Digital Single Lense Reflex) DSLR camera. I go to the Pudu Wet Market to have my breakfast and buy thing for my fish pond. Then I went to Sogo around 1 something to meet my friend which she agrees to accompany me buy the camera. Below is the List of my Set of camera.
